my advice would be to go through the free library first. it's a great starting point and you can get a feel for what the library offers. then go through the "new" set of samples. i think it's the right direction for sonokinetic to go, as it's always the case with "new" libraries. it also makes sense to me that the new samples would have more of the tuning fixes you are describing. i believe that they have more of the character of the old samples, but that they are more lively, sonically speaking. at least that's how i feel listening to them. i'm sure i'm just being biased, but to me they just sound more organic.

i had no trouble with the download but did find the zip file a bit large. it took me a while to move it over to my nas. it's a regular zip file, so you need to unzip it first (windows and mac). it should be ok for mac users to unzip the file directly from itunes. windows users can use a zip extractor, if required.
